Wow it has been a long time coming but the New Orleans Saints sign Drew Brees to a Record Breaking Contract.
The Contract Was Five Years for 100 Million Dollars. There has been some celebrating going on in New Orleans.
Drew Brees Contract will pay him 40 Million Dollars guaranteed in 2012 and another 15 Million guaranteed in 2013. In 2014 he is Guaranteed another 5 Million with an additional 1 Million in Salary, For a grand total of 60 Million Dollars Guaranteed. That is the Record Breaker 60 Million Guaranteed, Calvin Johnson is the closest with 48.75 Million Guaranteed.
The remaining 39 Million to be earned in 2015 and 2016 is not guaranteed, but Drew Brees will hit all of the incentives and will make 100 Million Dollars in Five years which adds up to 20 Million a Year.
No other player in NFL history has averaged 20 Million Dollars a year. Tom Brady makes an average of 18 Million per season and Peyton Manning will average a little more than 19 Million a season.
